Evaluating the Spatio-Temporal Distribution of Irrigation Water Components for Water Resources Management Using Geo-Informatics Approach

Spatio-temporal distribution of irrigation water components was evaluated at the canal command area in Indus Basin Irrigation System (IBIS) by using a remote sensing-based geo-informatics approach. Satellite-derived MODIS product-based Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL) used estimation actual evapotranspiration (ETa). The ground data-based advection aridity method (AA) to calibrate and validate model. Statistical analysis SEBAL based ETa AA shows mean values 87.1 mm 47.9 during Kharif season (May–November) 100 77 Rabi Season (December–April). Mean NSEs 0.72 0.85 RMSEs 34.9 5.76 seasons were observed AA, respectively. Rainfall data calibrated with point observatory metrological stations. average annual found 899 defined four cropping years (2011–2012 2014–2015) minimum value 63.3 January maximum 110.6 August. Average sum net use (NCWU) rainfall study period 548 (36% ETa). Seasonal revealed 39% 61% groundwater extraction proportion seasons, dependent upon occurrence crop phenology. Overall, results provide insight into interrelationships between key resources management variation these through time, offering information improve strategic planning available this region.
